Vishesham Private Limited (hereinafter referred to as “Vishesham,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of the personal information of all individuals who access or use the Buddy Mentor platform (www.buddymentor.ai and associated mobile applications) (collectively, the “Platform”). This Privacy & Cookie Policy (hereinafter referred to as the “Privacy Policy”) describes how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal data, and the rights available to you in relation thereto.

This Privacy Policy applies to all Users of the Platform, regardless of their mode of access (web or mobile), geographic location, or the nature of their use of the Platform. It forms an integral part of the Terms of Service and should be read in conjunction therewith.

Given that the Platform has a global reach, including Users based in the United States of America and member states of the European Union, this Privacy Policy has been drafted to comply with applicable data protection laws, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (India), the General Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (“GDPR”), and such other laws as may apply to the jurisdiction of the User.   2. Contact Information: Email address, mobile number, postal address;
  3. Profile Information: Profile photograph (where voluntarily uploaded);
  4. Financial Information: Payment details processed through third-party payment gateways (we do not directly store card or banking credentials);
  5. User-Generated Content: Reviews, Tech Diary entries, Drill submissions, and Q&A responses posted on the Platform; and
  6. Communications: Queries, feedback, and correspondence submitted to us through support channels.

3.2 Data Collected Automatically

When you access the Platform, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:

  1. Device Information: Device type, operating system, browser type, and version;
  2. Usage Data: Pages visited, features used, content accessed, duration of sessions, and click patterns;
  3. Log Data: IP address, access time, referral URL, and error logs; and
  4. Location Data: Approximate geolocation derived from IP address (we do not collect precise GPS location without explicit consent).

3.3 Data Collected via Social Login

Where you choose to register or log in using a Social Media Account (such as Google or LinkedIn), we receive information from that platform in accordance with your privacy settings on that platform and the permissions you grant. This typically includes your name, email address, and profile photograph.

4. Purposes of Processing and Legal Basis

We process your personal data for the following purposes, each of which is supported by a legitimate legal basis under applicable law:

  1. Account Creation and Management: To register your account, verify your identity, and manage your profile. Legal basis: Performance of a contract.
  1. Service Delivery: To provide you with access to Courses, mentorship sessions, Drill exercises, Q&A forums, Tech Diary, and other features of the Platform. Legal basis: Performance of a contract.
  1. Payment Processing: To facilitate transactions through payment gateways and maintain records of purchases and subscriptions. Legal basis: Performance of a contract; legal obligation.
  1. Communication and Notifications: To send you service-related notifications, policy updates, and, with your consent, promotional communications. Legal basis: Legitimate interest; consent (for marketing).
  1. Analytics and Platform Improvement: To analyse usage patterns, diagnose technical issues, and enhance the functionality and content of the Platform. Legal basis: Legitimate interest.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal data for as long as your account remains active or as reasonably necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. In any event, we shall retain your data for a maximum period of three (3) years from the date of last activity on your account, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by applicable law.

After the expiry of the applicable retention period, your personal data shall be securely deleted or anonymised in a manner that prevents re-identification.

  4. Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of all or substantially all of our assets, your personal data may be transferred to the successor entity, subject to equivalent privacy protections.

However, no system of security is impenetrable. In the event of a personal data breach, we will notify you and the applicable regulatory authority as required by law, including within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach in accordance with applicable regulations.

We reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy at any time. Any material changes will be communicated to registered Users via email.
